Valentines Day Alligator Mailbox

All these years and we never made one of those cute boxes that hold all the kids Valentines they get a school, well no more! This year my son Caleb {10} and crafted one. We found this really cute idea on Pinterest here and then just modified it and made it our own. How cute is this?!
This is how we made ours:
We found the cardboard mailbox at Hobby Lobby and cut off the side flag
We bought Green paint at Hobby Lobby and painted the entire box, let dry
Then we super glued the mailbox in a half down position on the sides for the mouth.
Once that was done we cut out Teeth from White cardstock and glued them on the inside top and bottom.
Cut out circles for eyes and nose, painted in details.
Cut out two hearts and pasted to front and my son hand wrote out the poem in marker.
Super easy and cute!! Now he can collect Valentines in style.

DIY Slap Bracelets Valentines

Ah Valentines day, I use to love this time of year when I was kid. Back in the 1980's, the entire classroom didn't get Valentines. It was whoever wanted to give you one, so not knowing who liked you or who was your true friends was always a surprise at the end of the day.
My son is in 4th grade, so assuming he can get another year out of Valentines. {Not sure when they stop doing this in school?} We want to make these last years amazing. I have always dodged the store bought paper Valentines and the ones with candy, in a effort to make something handmade and not offered anywhere else. To stand out from the crowd. I ENJOY this and being a mom in general.
We searched Pinterest for handmade Valentines ideas and found the one we wanted to do this year, slap bracelets!! I found this on skiptomylou Blog and had to do it!! Slap bracelets were the THING back in the day. Do I sound old or what? These were super simple & fun to make

What you'll need:
Slap bracelets, we bought ours on Amazon in bulk here, for $11.99 free shipping for Prim members
White Heavy card stock, bought ours at Walmart
xacto knife to cut the slits for bands to go through on the cards
The printable file can be found over on Skiptomylou's blog in link above
That's it! Hopefully this gives you a great idea for next year!
