DIY Nature Inspired Ornaments

This year, we decided not to put up a large traditional tree. We are traveling soon and will not be here for the holidays, so we settled on a small tree near the entry way. I found the tree at a local thrift store for 12$ and took it home, cleaned it up and added these amazing Amber colored lights from Hobby Lobby. We decided on a all natural look/theme for the tree this year. Handmade and neutral colors, today I wanted to share a simple and very beautiful way to add a natural look to your tree. A simple do it yourself, outside textures ornament globe.

Caleb & I look for reasons to be outdoors already, we love it. So we took a hike, with tote in hand and pointed out all the cool things we could fit into the globes. Caleb really took to this and found some interesting shapes and textures. We found curly things, spiky things and seed pods. We used these to fill out globes.

Our hunt to find textures

Now that I shared our walk with you...On to the good part....

What you will need:
A box of clear plastic or glass ornaments, we got plastic at Hobby Lobby
Outside textiles/textures, things like empty seed pods, vines, tree branches etc. Little things to fit inside the globes
ornament hangers

How do you think we did?
